Montana Wedding
A wedding in Montana? Yes please! This wedding was perfect timing! We had been talking about taking a trip out west in the summer with the kids. What better way to incorporate a family vacation into doing something that we love for our couples.
As soon as our couple booked with us, we started planning our trip! I would drive out by myself on an epic solo road trip, and Jeremiah and the kids would fly to SLC. I would later meet them there on the way back from the Montana wedding so that we could drive back together.
This trip was many months in the making and couldn’t have been more fun of a trip.
Day 1: I drove from Charlotte to Nashville. Driving along with the mountain views was a great way to begin the first day of the road trip.
My day of travel was filled with miles of open road, beautiful skies, and so many bugs tagged along on my car. There were some crazy storms getting into SD. It was a scary couple of hours as I could hardly see in front of me. The sky turned yellow and the wind was relentless. The storm was even on the national news the next day. I was so grateful that I had stayed safe throughout my drive.
A yummy breakfast across SD with a rest stop and a view of windmills.
Day 4: Souix Falls, South Dakota to Rapid City, South Dakota
Another beautiful rest stop with a lot of history landmarks along the way. The engraved chocolate at the hotel in Rapid City was especially such a cool detail and small insight into the surrounding area .
Mount Rushmore! The next day, I traveled from Rapid City, South Dakota to Billings, Montana. The following day, I made it to Bozeman, Montana where the wedding rehearsal was located.
My hotel was in Three Forks, Montana where I stayed at this cute bed and breakfast. The third floor with no elevator made it a hilarious challenge to carry my heavy suitcase and violin, but it was a nice beginning to the wedding weekend after days of road tripping.
It’s wedding day in Livingston, Montana! Began the day with a coffee on the porch & couldn’t wait to see what the day would bring.
The wedding was at a private home which was so beautiful and private. The air was so crisp and everything was quiet. It was great weather and very windy. We had to hold our music stands with our feet so that they wouldn’t fall over. It was THAT windy! The wind was so strong it was difficult to hold the bow to the string without the wind getting underneath and picking up the bow. However, despite the windy weather, the music and sound turned out beautifully.
The Montana wedding was epic! It felt like such an accomplishment after five days of driving to Montana.
Happily Reunited
We hiked in Utah, and the views were unmatched!
Fun car ride activities!
We made it to Avon, CO!
Cheers to being back in Missouri and all together as a family.
Took the kids to see Superman on the return trip. They loved it.
We stopped in Knoxville for our last night of the trip.
The Montana wedding was a dream with blue skies, amazing wedding vendors, and mountain views made for a trip that we will always remember! We can’t wait to travel back to Montana for more weddings and events and fun in the future.
