I was a little skeptical about having strings at our ceremony and cocktail hour thinking it was a little over the top, but after attending another wedding with a string quartet that made me weep during the processional and at our planner’s suggestion- we decided to look into it. After one call with April and a quick tour through their youtube and song lists, it was a clear yes. We hired the string trio, and April worked with us to create the perfect setlist, even helping me surprise my husband by arranging his favorite punk song into an incredible piece that they played right before the processional. They were so responsive and accommodating, and they were the perfect kickoff to an incredible party.”

“I’m so glad we decided to work with Dean’s Duets for our ceremony and cocktail hour music! I started working with April right before COVID hit, and she was super flexible and helpful throughout our planning process - especially when we had to modify plans because of COVID restrictions. My husband and I wanted music to play a central part in our wedding day, but we were clueless about how to actually carry out that vision. April helped us figure out the ensemble type that would best support our music choices AND fit within our budget range. We had a small in-person wedding with way more virtual Zoom attendees, and April went above and beyond in helping us with in-person audio setup so that our virtual attendees had a great experience. I’m so glad April recommended a harp and violin duo - they were able to pull off traditional wedding songs as well as more modern choices, and the harp was stunning in our venue space.”

We hired Deans’ Duets string quartet for the ceremony, April played the grand piano for our cocktail hour and we had 2 violinists for the reception for 2 hours. They played a selection of traditional church music and classical pieces for us. During cocktail hour April played a mixture of classic piano tunes and classical music. The music at the reception was lovely and elegant - all classical pieces made for the violin. I highly recommend April and Deans’ Duets!”

“Our Fairytale Wedding at the Mast Farm Inn in Valle Crucis, NC was absolutely PERFECT with the incredible gifted talents by Dean’s Duets! They provided violin solo, violin duet, string trio with two violins & a cello, piano accompaniment with both violin & cello....every song was absolutely beautiful!! Their genre repertoire is expansive however April tailored the playlist to our specific wishes...Dean’s Duets are a professional group, well versed as talented musicians and an absolute delight & joy to meet. Donna and April made sure that our song selection was cohesive and complemented the instruments we’d requested and they even learned an entirely new song for our processional. When I was struck with indecision about which song I would walk down the aisle to, Donna called me and played the songs for me over the phone and her suggested solutions were absolutely perfect. “Absolutely zero complaints with Deans’ Duets from the initial consultation through the actual music being played during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner hour. All interactions have been professional but also friendly, prompt and easy going. Deans’ Duets worked with my wife and I on finding/making sheet music for pieces that they did not have in their repertoire and for a reasonable price learned new music and executed the songs flawlessly. Many guest commented on the music and how it created the perfect ambiance to the wedding overall. I am very impressed and pleased with the duet that performed at our wedding (violin/guitarist) and would highly recommend them. Additionally, they were willing to work with the DJ we had for the reception in order to facilitate the sound equipment details which cut costs for us and was again executed flawlessly. Our wedding was at Sky Retreat in Purlear, NC and the sound was clear for the ceremony on the mountain side with amplification as well as during the dinner/cocktail hour in the reception area. The volume during dinner and cocktail hour was perfectly clear yet not overwhelmingly loud. I am also very happy with the diversity in the types of music they did have available for us to chose from.”

“Beautiful music and wonderful customer service! My wife Chelsea and I employed Dean’s Duets for our wedding just over a month ago and we’re so glad we did! Right from the start, April was incredibly helpful, responsive, and enthusiastic. With her assistance, we selected a wonderful playlist for a string trio to play through during our cocktail hour and reception. She was especially understanding when we decided to make a few tweaks to the list along the way and even took the time to speak with us a few days before the wedding to go over all of the fine details! On the day of the wedding itself, the trio arrived plenty early to our venue, which was in the mountains of North Carolina. The band (Meg, Nick, and Paul) was extremely friendly and gracious. They had even taken the time to learn a new song specifically for the ceremony! The music provided by Dean’s Duets truly helped to set the tone for the day and Chelsea and I couldn’t be more appreciative of how easy they were to work with. We wanted some ‘strange’ music (Phish and Pink Floyd to name a few) for our ceremony and April was not daunted by this request. She downloaded the music, learned it, and played it beautifully! We went to her house on two occasions to get a preview of what the music would sound like, and she was very helpful in helping us make our final song decisions.
