Classic October Celebration at The Sutherland
The Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC provided a stunning backdrop for this October affair! Morgan and David had a vision for their wedding ceremony that included a solo harp, so Heather, our Charlotte and Raleigh harpist, was up to the task of creating a beautiful experience for this couple and their guests. The harp is such a unique instrument with the ability to make any genre of music sound charming and ethereal!
Help! How can I make sure my wedding day goes smoothly?
The question we get from brides and coordinators alike is… How can I avoid potential hiccups with my music and ensure that everything goes according to plan?
Even in earlier years when Covid was not an issue, there were a few key things that we always recommend to help your ceremony music to go smoothly on wedding day. Here are our suggestions...........
Violin and Guitar Wedding in Greenville SC
On December 5, we played at Lindsey Plantation in Taylors, South Carolina, for the first time! It is so exciting when we can play at new venues. We love to see how different they can be and how each couple can personalize a place to make it look like a new place!
Violin Harp Duet at Vesuvius Vineyards in Iron Station NC
Our violin harp duet played ceremony music at Vesuvius Vineyards wedding venue in Iron Station, North Carolina, in November. This bride and groom contacted us at the last minute about providing ceremony music. Due to Covid restrictions, they had changed so many things and were finally able to have a gorgeous ceremony at Vesuvius Vineyards, which is a quite a grand sight!
Sweet Magnolia Estate Wedding
Tara and Eric started planning their wedding many months ago before Covid weddings started happening. Tara had a clear vision of what exactly she wanted for her wedding, and she quickly booked our string quartet for her wedding ceremony.
High Grove Estate Wedding in Furquay-Varina, North Carolina
Sunday was our first time at High Grove Estate in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Apparently this is a big up and coming event venue in the Raleigh area, and it seems like they’re doing a ton of weddings. It’s a gorgeous venue with a lot of versatility.
October 10, 2020.... the most popular wedding in the history of wedding dates
It was going to be the most popular wedding date in years. Everyone had their calendars full for this date. And then Covid happened. Lots of cancellations and rescheduling, and we all wondered what would happen to the most popular wedding date of the year.
Pine Knoll Shores Beach Wedding Music
We were so excited to provide violin and guitar duets in Pine Knolls Shores for the ceremony and cocktail hour music on the beach. As the day grew closer, the weather forecast looked more and more perfect. The couple rented a beautiful beach house as their venue and celebrated with their closest family and friends right on the beach in the sand.
Covid Wedding Tips- Asking the Tough Questions
At the end of the day, the wedding is about being married - not about the wedding day!
Yes - this is so true. BUT…. Wait a minute! The wedding day is a big deal! As wedding vendors, that's our job... to provide the best wedding day you could possibly imagine.
Violin and Guitar Fearrington Village Wedding
Will and Grace were married at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro NC on Saturday at a 50 guest ceremony. Our violin guitar duet played ceremony music together and then the solo violinist played for a group of 25 friends, and the solo guitarist played for a separate group of 25.
A Successful COVID Wedding Postponement in Townsend, TN
Heather and Chad were originally scheduled to be married on May 9 in Banner Elk, NC. They booked us back in early 2019 as a violin and cello duet for their ceremony! Little did we know how much would change between then and their wedding day.
Student, to Team Member, to Bride
In 2011, Madilyn began violin lessons in my studio. It has been amazing to see the talented violinist she has become.
Weather and Live Music on your Wedding Day
Outdoor weddings are the best, aren’t they? There is just something about having the openness and fresh air and nature all around to set the tone for this incredibly special day in your life, whether it is up on a mountain, down by a quiet river in your backyard, or in a spectacular garden venue.
Our Favorite Asheville Area Wedding Venues
We’ve highlighted the five venues where we perform ceremony music most often in the Asheville area. This barely scratches the surface, but hopefully it helps get you pointed in the right direction.
String Quartet - Old Edwards Inn Wedding Music
The Farm at Old Edwards Inn is a dream venue. We play here a lot and every single experience is breathtaking.
Solo Violin at Silver Hearth Lodge
This wedding was simple, sweet, fun and relaxed. Guests were appreciative of the music. Virginia mountains are really beautiful, and it was fun to explore a new place. If you’re looking for a venue off the beaten bath a bit in Virginia, check out Silver Hearth Lodge. The views are some of the best we’ve seen!
Wedding Orchestra in Greensboro NC at Grandover Resort & Spa
We’ve envisioned a wedding orchestra or a small string band for a long time, and we were so excited when a bride reached out to us interested in an 8-piece string group for her wedding ceremony in Greensboro! We essentially doubled our wedding string quartet to have 4 violins, 2 violas, and 2 cellos to create an epic ensemble and our first ever wedding orchestra!
Tips For Selecting The Perfect Wedding Venue
From traditional church weddings to exotic destination weddings, the idea of a perfect wedding venue looks different to everyone. There are numerous decisions to make while planning your wedding and the venue is a big one that ultimately sets the tone for your big day.
String Quartet Wedding in Hickory North Carolina at The Crossing at Hollar Mill
The Crossing at Hollar Mill is a great venue for hosting the wedding ceremony and the reception at the same place. We love playing there. String quartet wedding music is always so energizing, and this wedding was no exception.
Charlotte String Quartet & Piano Wedding at the Charlotte City Club
We Charlotte musicians played an arrangement of the Moldau for the bride's song, which the groom requested to be arranged just for the occasion.
