Montage Palmetto Bluff Wedding Trio in Bluffton, South Carolina

Same ensemble and two different sounds make for the perfect wedding weekend combination in Bluffton, South Carolina at Montage Palmetto Bluff.

The couple’s rehearsal dinner/welcome party was held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 with their wedding day following on Friday. They hired Deans’ Duets’ trio for their two special days.

Wedding Rehearsal Dinner / Welcome Party

Have you ever heard our team play at Palmetto Bluff?  It is one of the most unique experiences we have ever had playing a wedding. It really feels like another world! We love this venue so much.

The rehearsal dinner/welcome party began and was held at Moreland Landing at Palmetto Bluff with 50 guests. Our team arrived at 4:00pm to setup with rehearsals and music prep following at 4:15pm. Once sound check was finished and practice had concluded, the musicians were all set at 5:00pm to then begin playing for the event at 5:30pm.

The fiddle, mandolin, and guitar played outdoors as guests gathered at the open air pavilion near the waterside. Thursday’s weather was predicted as a high of 70 and a low of 55, which is some of the most ideal weather for an outdoor event, especially in February.

We worked alongside Betsy (coordinator) throughout the course of the wedding rehearsal dinner with the event and music ending at 10:00pm. Working with Betsy and her team has always been very organized with huge attention to detail.

The last time we played at Montage Palmetto Bluff was the day before Justin Bieber’s wedding at the venue! (Security was much easier this time around! :) ) Montage Palmetto Bluff is not only a stunning venue, but is also feels like a quaint and private small town - perfect for wedding guests.

Music

Mainstream music was played from 5:30pm-8:00pm which included pop, jazz, rock, etc from an amplified fiddle, mandolin, and guitar ensemble. As setup began, the musicians offered both an entertaining and band-like configuration to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and interactive setting for listeners.

We love when we’re given the creative license to add a few of our own song selections while reading the crowd and playing the songs that they enjoy in the moment. For the second half of the night, the couple requested bluegrass to be played from 8:00pm - 10:00pm. The atmosphere changed from a rehearsal dinner to a welcome party, and more guests arrived. The elevated bluegrass music included a few additional song selections such as “Ho Hey” and “I Will Wait” as well.

Wedding Day

It’s wedding day! The February wedding day was a day to remember. The couple’s wedding day ensemble included a violin, violin, and cello trio for ceremony and cocktail hour. The indoor ceremony was held at May River Chapel at Montage Palmetto Bluff , and the cocktail hour was on the May River Lawn.

Wedding day began as the musicians arrived for setup, sound check, and ceremony rehearsal with prelude at 4:00pm. Ceremony then began at 4:30pm where cocktail hour followed around 5:15pm.

Ceremony

We loved being able to select all of the prelude music with the request of classical music selections! One of our favorite pieces of the day was at the conclusion of ceremony as there was a bagpiper that played the bridal processional (Highland Cathedral) and the Recessional (Scotland the Brave). The bagpiper played for the bride, recessional, and postlude to give the trio time to move to play for cocktail hour.

Cocktail Hour

So grateful to this beautiful team of vendors who made this day come to life!!
