Morgan & Shaun’s July Wedding at Carolina Grove in Hillsborough, NC
Morgan and Shaun were married on a warm July day at Carolina Grove in Hillsborough, NC where Deans’ Duets’s violin guitar duet performed for ceremony and cocktail hour.
Wedding Day
The musicians arrived at Carolina Grove around 2:30pm to park adjacent to the gorgeous venue. Setup and sound check then began outside at 2:45pm with the ceremony being outdoors. The team rehearsed shortly after for both ceremony and cocktail hour. We were so excited to not only be a part of ceremony, but also to lead into the reception! Prelude began at 4:30pm with ceremony starting at 5:00pm with around 150 guests in attendance. With ceremony wrapping up, the musicians transitioned into cocktail hour which also was situated outside under a covered patio. The live music of the evening concluded at 6:30pm as cocktail hour ended and guests moved inside the venue for the reception.
Throughout the course of the black tie wedding, we loved working with an amazing vendor team including Amanda Scott (Coordinator), Melissa O’Hara (Venue Contact), Alex Choi (DJ), and many more!
Music
The violin guitar duet was amplified during the ceremony and the cocktail hour music. For prelude, the couple was interested in mellow pop and modern songs along with more upbeat and lively pop / modern songs for cocktail hour.
The bride and groom’s entrance into ceremony was so unique and special that we couldn’t wait for the couple’s day to witness such special moments. The bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle in pairs to “Marry Me” by Train with Shaun then walking down with both of his parents to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. For the bride’s processional, Morgan walked into the ceremony with both of her parents to the continuation of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The bride’s procession was an explosion of sound which went an octave up on the violin for a dramatic entrance. The timing of the processional which was so elegantly paired by the sounds of the instruments made for a beautiful ceremony sounds.
After the ceremony concluded, postlude was played until all the guests had excited and moved into cocktail hour. The violin guitar duet played for cocktail hour until guests were seated for dinner. A great ending to a wonderfully played ceremony and cocktail hour!
