Jackie grew up in Wilmington, NC, where he studied violin as well as viola, mandolin, guitar, and piano.  His studies flourished under the leadership of Roy Robuck and Nancy Bargerstock.  He holds a degree in violin performance from Appalachian State University, in Boone, NC.

Jackie's versatile style includes classical, jazz, folk, rock, bluegrass, and more. He has also worked as a recording artist on several albums and genres.  

Current ventures include playing in a jazz/folk band in Asheville, teaching private students in Hickory, and performing with the Johnson City Symphony, as a violinist.  He performs in our elevated bluegrass ensemble, jazz trio, as well as playing classical music as a wedding ceremony musician in Pigeon Forge, TN, and Highlands, NC.
