Casey, comfortable in a wide variety of genres, began old-time fiddle lessons as a child and then extended his musical interests into the world of improvisation and traditional classical music. He holds a Masters of Music in violin performance from Bowling Green State University and performs with the South Carolina Philharmonic and the Roanoke Symphony. He also is a studio recording artist, having professionally recorded with the National Orchestral Institute Symphony on the Naxos label and with several singer-songwriters.
He performs as a violinist in Roanoke, and with our violin harp duet in Rock Hill, SC. Casey is one of the founding members of our bluegrass ensemble in Banner Elk, and performs bluegrass in Boone, NC, and throughout the high country in weddings and corporate events. He is also a proficient fiddle and mandolin player.
A registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, he finds great joy in passing along a love for music to the next generation. Besides working with kids and playing in the symphony, Casey's interests include fly-fishing, playing tennis, and reading anything by C.S. Lewis.
