Kate & Matt’s Merrimon-Wynne House Wedding in Raleigh, NC
Kate and Matt’s Merrimon-Wynne House wedding in Raleigh, NC, was a bright and sunny day for Deans’ Duets’ violin cello duet. The musicians arrived at Merrimon-Wynne around 3:00pm to park and setup for the couple’s big day. Prelude began at 4:30pm with ceremony following shortly after, at 5. Kate and Matt then said “I do” as newlyweds, with their ceremony ending at 5:45pm. We love planning at this venue for our couple’s wedding day and can’t wait be back shortly to play Merrimon-Wynne’s Tasting in April!

Music Selections
A few notable details during our music planning process included the following:
These behind-the-scenes notes are how we execute countless ceremonies with amazingly accurate timing, without attending the wedding rehearsal.
“A Thousand Years”: We played A Thousand Years as it is written and then looped the chorus until everyone was in place.
“To Make You Feel My Love”: We also played this song selection as written since it’s for a larger group of people to process, having marked several possible cadences and repeats if needed.
“Can’t Help Falling in Love”: This song was played for the bridal party and was used for the bride as well. We kept the volume lower for everyone except the bride so that we could save some memorable moments to crescendo for the bride. The violinist also went up an octave when the bride appeared, and we played the iconic chorus for her entrance, with a dramatic crescendo.
“Wildest Dreams”: Our team played this song slightly faster at the couple’s request, which we loved, as it was played for their recessional.
Congrats to Kate & Matt! We loved being a part of your special day!!
